SilverFast 8 for Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400
SilverFast 8 has been successfully adapted to the individual hardware of Minolta’s DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400.
The Scan Elite 5400 does not unfold its true potential without SilverFast. Multi-Exposure allows it to capture 5.888 instead of just 676 grayscales. Multi-Exposure reveals image details that would otherwise remain hidden. SRD, NegaFix and many more unique features complete the power package SilverFast for the DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400. |

I have just got it. And it works very well. And I am back to being able to produce the wonderful 5400dpi without interpolation scans with all their amazing detail. The only slight problem I have encountered is that the film and slider holders seem only to be usable in their first positions and not for their whole range. Have I missed finding how this is done, though to be honest it doesn’t actually matter a great deal, or may this be an upgrade in the pipeline?

I have now found what I was looking for, under Image > Prescan/Scan/Batch Scan/Jobmanager on the top line. So it’s all sorted. And how sophisticated it’s all become! I much rely on Mark Segal’s excellent ebook, and am hoping for a ‘Minolta upgrade’ to it soon.

Hi Barry,
just started to answer your question. Ok, you found out. For further information, you may also refer to this manual PDF files:

Any chance to have this for Windows 7 or 8? Just buying an Apple seems a rather expensive upgrade for my otherwise fine scanner.

Hi Marcus,
we actually plan to support the Minolta under Windows. Software is under development, but I can’t state any date.

Are there any plans to provide Silverfast 8 for Elite 5400 II?
