SilverFast 8 – Upgrade Discounts for our Customers
We have informed you about our new scanner software SilverFast 8 recently. Today we would like to show our low-priced upgrade options to you.
Until the 30th of June 2012, LaserSoft Imaging will offer a free SilverFast 8 upgrade 8 to all customers who will purchase or have purchased a copy of SilverFast version 6.6 after June 1st, as soon as it is available. This offer is naturally also valid for SilverFast versions bundled with a scanner device or purchased from a dealer. Any SilverFast software purchased prior to June 1st will benefit from significant pricebreaks of up to 50% when upgrading from an earlier SilverFast version to SilverFast 8.
The release of SilverFast 8 is scheduled for August 2011.
The SilverFast 8 pricing will be within the range of SilverFast 6.6 prices. Actually, some versions can be offered for a lowered price. In detail we will offer pricebreaks as follows:
- SilverFast purchased after June 1st, 2011: free upgrade
- older SilverFast software of version 6.5 or later: 50% discount
- older SilverFast software of version 6.0 or later: 30% discount
- older SilverFast software of version 5.5 or later: 20% discount
The new SilverFast 8 version 8 will support Windows 7, Vista and XP as well as Intel Mac OS X 10.5 or later (including 10.7 Lion). SilverFast versions previous to SilverFast 8 will not run on Mac OS X 10.7.
If a scanner-specific 6.6.1 version is currently in use, is the discount still valid? Will the new version (8.x) work only with that scanner model or will it be unlocked?

you will receive a 50% discount when upgrading your version 6.6.1 to version 8.
The new software would run with just the same scanner, the old serial would be invalidated.
If you want to purchase SilverFast 8 for a different scanner model,
you can gain a discount, when entering your existing serial during the order process.
This kind of upgrade, we do call crossgrade.
I am looking to buy a new Epson Perfection V750-M Pro Scanner. It is bundled with SiliverFast Ai 6 or 6.6 (not sure which—some adds indicate 6 and some indicate 6.6). I have a new MacBook Pro with OS 10.8. Are you still providing a free upgrade to Ai 8 for bundles or is there an additional cost? If there is an addition cost, how much? I am in the USA.

You just need to register the SilverFast 6 serial delivered with the scanner

I’m confused. I have SilverFast 8, don’t know if it is SE, Suite or what. Now I see there is an upgrade to 8.8. I use the Plustek 8200i. Should I upgrade to 8.8 and, if so, which version?

I looked you up in our customer data base. You have SilverFast Ai Studio 8. This is our software edition containing full functionality, you don’t need to purchase an upgrade. The update to version 8.8 is free for you.
