This free PDF for download (published under Creative Commons Public License) provides photographers with a batch of tips and helpful background info, in order to make your daily digital job a lot easier.

From the intro:

The “Compendium for digital photography” aka. “DigiPix” in version 3 was originally written and published November 2004 in and by the cooperation of the adf (Working Group Digital Photography) and the ECI (European Color Initiative) - in german only. With the kind of positive acceptance we received in public the idea of an international ver-
sion available in english was soon born and eventually realized.

A lot of SilverFast users are most likely familiar with the european version of the ICC (International Color Consortium) the ECI - “European Color Initiative”. The members and their partners have contributed significantly to develop and establish several international standards in the area of prepress, media-neutral color data-processing and data-exchange formats.

Thank you for this compendium. I own a good scanner now for over 1 year but have not been able to use it until now. Your data will certainly be helpful as I learn this new medium (new to me). I shall watch for the availability of the updated version. My time for tech help has undoubtedly expired but I hope your tech staff can help me if needed, Thank you
